Design
From the original Audi 100 to the new A6, Audi stays true to the core values of progressive design. Sleek yet spacious, the A6 is a handsome and well-proportioned beauty.
The 2008 model year brings a striking standard upgrade to the A6. The sporty and stylish S line exterior now comes standard on every A6. Included are the S-line grille, front and rear bumpers, badge, rear integrated spoiler, and 18” 5-spoke wheels with all season tires. The sleek and aggressive S line interior package now makes the best interior in business even better in the 2008 A6. Included in this optional package are front sport seats, wrapped in Milano leather and embossed with the S line logo and a multi-function perforated leather sports steering wheel with tri color stitching, shift paddles and a matching perforated leather shift knob. The coupe-style roof is based on the classic proportions of an Audi sport sedan. The roofline’s arc tapers down towards the tail, yet inside there’s plenty of room for five adults to travel in comfort. An exciting new option on the A6 is the 19” seven double-spoke alloy wheel from quattro® GmbH. Similar in design to the RS 4 wheel and equipped with summer performance tires, these wheels add an aggressive stance and increased performance.
Safety
Audi engineers utilize the latest in safety technologies to ensure the 2008 A6 models are as safe as they are luxurious and powerful. Features such as the Electronic Stabilization Program and next generation dual stage, front and side mounted airbags contribute to the 2007 A6 nomination as a “Top Safety Pick” in the large car category by the Insurance Institute of Highway Safety (IIHS). The 2007 Audi A6 achieved the highest-level crash ratings from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS). Audi is the only European, and only premium, auto manufacturer to have two models on the list. The Audi A6 was the only car listed in the large car category. Innovation merges with safety in this unique system that detects when the driver is outside of traffic lanes and sends a warning via a vibrating steering wheel. Using an array of sensors and video technology, this system helps drivers stay safe and on track. Easy on/off switching also adds convenience. Full-size airbags for driver and front passenger are triggered in two stages: Front knee and side airbags. Optional rear side airbags help protect the driver and all passengers in a collision.
